Senior AV Installation Technician

Responsibilities

• Leads and delegates tasks to install crews, subcontractors, and union trades.
• Verifies all work complies with Diversified’s and clients' quality control standards.
• Oversees field operations in situations without a dedicated on-site superintendent.
• Executes a wide variety of cabling terminations for all wire and connector types, including verifying crew terminations to our standards.
• Sets up equipment racks for staging of equipment, including installing power strips, grounding bars, jack-fields, etc.
• Able to read and understand functional design drawings as well as cable riser diagrams.
• Able to perform mounting of base build equipment such as monitor mounts, ceiling speakers, microphones, and projectors.
• Provides a consistent level of technical performance as well as flexibility in work schedule. Periodic overtime and weekend work for extended periods to meet client deadlines may be required.
• Able to generate cable labels and manage all wire listing activities for cable labels per our standards.
• Maintains an organized work environment, specifically ensuring orderliness and cleanliness of the shop and jobsites.
• Responsible for tracking and maintaining their toolkit, company vehicles, and installation materials inventories.
• Keeps things clean, orderly, and well-documented. Maintains an on-site job box when applicable.
• Responsible for checking in drop-shipped items and managing on-site materials needed by the crew.
• Works with the Project Manager to ensure timely delivery of on-site equipment and materials.
• Responsible for tracking and maintaining their personal licenses, certifications, and qualifications.
• Keeps daily records of time worked on specific projects for timesheet entry as well as an employee/contractor information log to share with management.

Requirements

• Five or more years as an installation technician or related industry experience.
• Familiarity with a wide range of audio, video, and networking equipment.
• Knowledgeable of low voltage electrical concepts.
• Possess advanced carpentry and/or installation skills.
• Proficient use and safety with power tools.
• Good verbal communication skills and good customer service skills.
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems.
• Valid drivers license and adherence to our insurance requirements.

Qualifications

• AVIXA CTS Certification is required.
• Washington E06 Low Voltage Electrician license is required.
• OSHA 30 Certificate required.
• Associates/Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or equivalent experience.
• AVIXA CTS-I Certification is highly desired.
