Responsibilities

  • Leads and delegates tasks to install crews, subcontractors, and union trades.
  • Verifies all work complies with Diversified’s and clients' QC standards.
  • Oversees field operations in situations without a dedicated on-site superintendent.
  • Executes a wide variety of cabling terminations for all wire and connector types, including verifying crew terminations to our standards.
  • Sets up equipment racks for staging of equipment wire lacing, including installation of power strips, grounding bars, jack-fields, etc.
  • Able to read and understand functional design drawings as well as cable riser diagrams.
  • Able to perform mounting of base build equipment such as monitor mounts, ceiling speakers, microphones, and projectors.
  • Provides a consistent level of technical performance as well as flexibility in work schedule. This position requires periodic overtime and may require regular overtime and weekend work for extended periods to meet client deadlines.
  • Able to complete assignments in accordance with or better than established task durations as well as estimate task durations to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Provides daily feedback to field site supervisor and/or direct manager.
  • Able to build and wire custom panels from engineering drawings.
  • Advanced Fiber optic cable handling, installation termination, repair and testing.
  • Generates cable labels and manages all wire listing activities for cable labels per our standards.
  • Maintains an organized work environment, specifically orderliness and cleanliness of the shop and jobsites.
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining their toolkit, company vehicles and installation materials inventories.
  • Keeps things clean, orderly, and well documented.
  • Responsible for checking in drop shipped items and maintaining on-site materials needed by the crew.
  • Works with the PM to assure timely delivery of on-site equipment and materials.
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining their personal licenses, certifications, and qualifications.
  • Maintains daily record of time worked on specific projects for timesheet entry as well as an employee/contractor information log to share with management.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years as an installation technician or related industry experience.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of audio, video, and networking equipment.
  • Knowledgeable of low voltage electrical concepts.
  • Possess advanced carpentry and/or installation skills.
  • Proficient use and safety with power tools.
  • Good verbal communication skills and good customer service skills.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems.
  • Valid drivers license and adherence to our insurance requirements.

Desired Skills/Qualifications

  • Associates/Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or equivalent experience.
  • AVIXA CTS-I Certification is highly desired.
