Senior Automation Engineer

Peak Performers has partnered with a Texas State Agency to assist in their search for a remote Senior Automation Engineer. In this position, you will design, develop, test, document, and support automation solutions that improve business processes, integrate systems, and reduce manual effort Major duties Design, develop, test, document, and support automation solutions that improve business processes and reduce manual effort. Develop workflow automations and custom applications to integrate systems and streamline operations. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to maintain reliable automation solutions. Maintain accurate technical documentation for automation solutions and processes. Collaborate with business stakeholders as needed to understand requirements and support solution development. Apply AI-assisted development techniques to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality, security, and maintainability. What are we looking for? Required 8 years of experience developing software solutions using Python and .NET technologies. 8 years of experience integrating systems with enterprise applications and APIs. 5 years of experience re-engineering manual workflows into automated workflow systems. 5 years of experience collaborating with non-technical stakeholders on technical solution evaluation and adoption. 3 years of experience developing workflows using tools such as Power Automate. 2 years of experience developing and optimizing prompts, instructions, and grounding strategies for AI systems. 2 years of experience using AI-assisted development practices, including prompt-driven programming and validation. Ability to work independently with limited technical direction and make sound decisions on moderately complex assignments. Experience building and supporting automation solutions, APIs, system integrations, troubleshooting, and technical documentation. Preferred 2 years of experience building complex Power Platform solutions using Power Automate, Power Apps, or Copilot Studio. 2 years of experience designing multi-agent, orchestration, or event-driven architectures. 2 years of experience developing agentic infrastructure, including retrieval systems, orchestration frameworks, and MCP integrations.
