Senior Automation Engineer
About the Role
InterSystems is hiring a Senior Automation Engineer to work as a technical specialist in an agile Software Automation team, with a specific focus on cloud-hosted continuous integration systems development and support. You will collaborate with a team of IT professionals to implement cutting-edge solutions in a global organization.
Responsibilities
- Contribute as a technical specialist in an agile Automation team focused on development and support of continuous integration systems.
- Design and build testing tools dedicated to the automated validation of a robust healthcare system.
- Manage infrastructure for cloud and locally hosted resources, including creation and maintenance of automated build and test environments.
- Provide support to cross-functional agile development teams.
- Develop non-functional and structural testing strategies to validate application performance, security, and interoperability.
- Identify functional and non-functional issues in applications from design through validation.
- Other duties as directed by the company.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in software automation, tooling, or related engineering roles.
- Proficiency in multiple programming and/or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, TypeScript).
- Experience developing automation tools, frameworks, or scripts for:
- End-to-end testing for web applications
- Software deployment
- Build and release processes
- Environment provisioning
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Good understanding of the SDLC and software testing principles.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation of build, test, and deployment workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design reliable, reusable automation solutions.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to learning new methodologies, technologies, and software products.
- Experience responding to end-user requests and bug reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with agentic AI development.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and automating cloud resources.
- Good understanding of Linux/Unix environments and basic system administration concepts.
- Proficiency with SQL and/or data structures.
- Experience leading large-scale projects with departmental impact.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Pay
The estimated base compensation range for this role is $92,000—$136,000 USD. Other compensation may include a discretionary annual variable target incentive.
