About The Role
BASIC PURPOSE - Currently this position provides support to manufacturing automation. Designs, advises, implements, and troubleshoots automated systems to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and safety.
Shift - 1st
Pay - $95,000
Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Controls Engineering with 5+ years of experience in the industry.
- Ability to interpret and create electrical prints
- Ability to use CAD Applications such as AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN / Visio
- Extensive knowledge of Rockwell Automation software and hardware
- Knowledge of other PLC and HMI hardware and software products from vendors such as Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider Electric, and others
- Knowledge of serial/digital communication protocols i.e. Ethernet IP, Profinet, RS232, CAN, etc.
- Experience implementing system designs.
ACTUAL TASKS
- Create and edit PLC and HMI programs for internal equipment.
- Select and configure appropriate control components, sensors, drives, and other instruments for projects.
- Design electrical schematics, network architecture diagrams, and panel layouts.
- Troubleshoot issues to provide root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Support development and commission new equipment and upgrades.
- Identify cost reduction and optimization opportunities
- Evaluate systems for operational safety and make recommendations
- Configure communication interfaces to other control systems (PLCs, HMIs, Robots, Sensors, Lasers, etc.)
