Job Summary Our Senior Automation and Controls Specialists are instrumental in building long-term customer relations, solving problems, and making recommendations to improve customer systems. They will develop, build, test, and commission building systems such as HVAC, lighting, power, and monitoring. Job Responsibilities Develop, build, test, and commission building controls systemsDiagnose and repair controls systems malfunctionsConduct BAS installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair, and serviceRespond to BAS emergencies during off hoursPrepare documentation and reports of work status and completion Basic Qualifications Education and Experience At least 7 years of experience with three (3) or more BAS controls platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Trane, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, or DistechAt least 5 years of experience in building and testing building automation and controls systems in a bench environment or live facilityWorking knowledge of: installation, operation, and repair of commercial HVAC equipment and control equipment / softwareWorking knowledge of computerized electrical circuits and systemsHigh school diploma or GED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to apply automation solutions and troubleshoot complex problems on automated equipment that is new and existingAbility to read and understand mechanical, electrical, network and wiring schematics, drawings, and diagramsAbility to manage professional email communicationsAbility to manage and maintain a calendar and task management systems Ability to present a professional, positive, and helpful attitude at all times when interacting with customer and co-workersMust possess and maintain exceptional work ethic and timelinessMust uphold company values and demand the highest level of conduct from self and othersMust be a self-starter, with the ability to work as part of a team and independentlyWillingness to market and promote McKenney’s services Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s degree in related fieldCompTIA A+ or Network+ CertificationNiagara AX or N4 TCP CertificationComputer networking experienceJava or SQL programming language experience WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noisesWork environment involves moderate exposure to construction warehouse hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautionsModerate physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 75 pounds and extensive sitting.
