About the Role

The Senior Auditor – U.S. Compliance Audit is responsible for executing and leading audit engagements based on established audit plans in alignment with applicable policies and regulatory guidelines for TD Bank's Governance, Risk & Oversight Functions. The U.S. Consumer Compliance team primarily audits U.S. Consumer Compliance regulations (including but not limited to UDAAP, TILA, HMDA, RESPA, EFTA, etc.) and evaluates the sufficiency of systems, processes, and oversight to support regulatory compliance.

This role supports audit engagements by evaluating, documenting, and testing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls under manager guidance. The Senior Auditor executes control testing, identifies findings, and delivers high-quality audit workpapers and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document audit test steps for assigned audits, focusing on critical areas.
  • Participate in planning audits and lead less complex audits or projects.
  • Independently assess control design and operating effectiveness during audits.
  • Provide on-the-job training for staff auditors.
  • Execute testing of controls, including walkthroughs, test script development and execution, and issue identification.
  • Coordinate communication with stakeholders throughout the audit process.
  • Review internal controls and share findings and suggestions with stakeholders and audit leadership.
  • Execute follow-up of findings from regulatory and internal divisional audits in accordance with firm policy.
  • Provide input to audit projects or initiatives as a representative for your area of specialization.
  • Adhere to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Contribute to the review of internal processes and assist in identifying control weaknesses or opportunities for operational efficiencies.
  • Develop and provide complex reporting, analysis, and assessments at the functional or enterprise level.
  • Prioritize and manage workload to deliver quality results and meet assigned timelines.
  • Stay current on emerging trends and developments, applying them where appropriate.
  • Prepare and share audit findings and presentation materials with management and broader audiences.
  • Assess and identify key issues, escalating to appropriate levels and stakeholders as required.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge and expertise in your area.
  • Support a positive work environment that promotes service, quality, innovation, and teamwork.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
  • Establish effective relationships across multiple businesses.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Banking industry audit experience with a focus on Governance, Risk & Oversight Function.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CPA, CRMA) or progress toward obtaining them.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills to interact clearly and effectively in a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with risk management and audit tools.

Pay

$64,820.00 - 97,220.00 USD per year. TD is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities. The base pay offered may vary based on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs.
