Requirements
Preference may be given to candidates with a Master's degree and/or with prior experience in performance auditing.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in finance, accounting, economics, public administration, or related field or higher AND three (3) years or more of professional auditing experience applying generally accepted government auditing standards (GAGAS) or other auditing standards framework.
- OR Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, accounting, economics, public administration, or related field AND five (5) years or more of professional auditing experience applying GAGAS or other auditing standards framework.
Skills
- Professional Certification: Specialized audit certification that requires passing an examination and maintaining certification through continuing education (e.g. CPA, Chartered Accountant, CIA, CISA, CFE) is preferred.
- Government performance auditing experience.

Pay
- As of July 12, 2026, the step 1 rate for pay grade 25 will be $39.43 per hour and the step 15 rate will be $61.81 per hour.
Schedule
- Duties are performed in a standard office setting or in the field. Significant pressure from deadlines is present. Occasional in-state travel may be necessary, and incumbents should have private means of transportation available. Some overtime work may be required. Managing the audit to successful completion may heighten stress levels in order to meet tight deadlines. Some audit situations may assume a somewhat adversarial nature, requiring significant tact and persistence to complete a successful audit.
