About the role

The Florida Department of Financial Services, led by Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia, is hiring a Senior Attorney to manage Final Orders for the Department. The ideal Final Orders attorney has exceptional research and writing skills and the ability to work independently on a variety of legal issues.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Final Orders for the Department.
  • Represent the CFO and the Department in civil, appellate, and administrative litigation.
  • Provide legal counsel to the Divisions of Risk Management and Consumer Services, Florida’s Insurance Consumer Advocate, the Office of the Inspector General, and the Office of Human Resources.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) Degree.
  • Admittance to the Florida Bar.
  • Two (2) years of legal experience.
  • Preference: Litigation experience.

Special Notes

  • Special Notes: DFS Senior Attorneys work on a sophisticated portfolio with a high degree of private-sector relevance.
  • Salary Range: $78,795.00 -$102,000.00 with benefits (state health insurance and retirement contributions) worth approximately $29,000.00 -$40,000.00 (per DMS).
  • Minimum Qualifications: Two (2) years of legal experience.
  • Benefits: Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle. There is no billing requirement for this position, as it is in Tallahassee.

This position is within the Litigation and Special Projects section which represents the CFO and the Department in civil, appellate, and administrative litigation and provides legal counsel to the Divisions of Risk Management and Consumer Services, Florida’s Insurance Consumer Advocate, the Office of the Inspector General, and the Office of Human Resources.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) Degree.
  • Admittance to the Florida Bar.
  • Two (2) years of legal experience.
  • Preference: Litigation experience.
