Your Specific Responsibilities
- Evaluates and prosecutes violations of state law and administrative rules by licensees.
- Prepares recommended action for Probable Cause Panels, including dismissals, letters of guidance, or Administrative Complaints.
- Presents cases before the probable cause panels.
- Drafts pleadings, discovery, and legal memoranda.
- Represents the Department before the Division of Administrative Hearings and in Circuit Court.
- Timely and professional representation in all aspects of litigation, including trial preparation, motions practice, and post-hearing pleadings.
- Maintains case files, reviews investigative and legal files, and responds to public records requests, inquiries, and other agencies regarding current cases.
- Prepares and presents cases for final action before the boards.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Knowledge of rulemaking authority and process.
- Knowledge of civil and administrative proceedings and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.
- Must become a member of the Florida Bar within 12 months of appointment to a position in this class.
