About the role
KPMG is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Trade and Customs practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice to clients in a variety of industries on import and export matters
- Research U.S. and international import and export trade matters
- Explore, write, and review international trade advice
- Formulate ideas and deliver possible trade savings opportunities
- Aid in the development and training of team members
- Assist in the delivery of multiple client engagements on time and within budget; maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations and satisfaction
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG’s respectful and courteous work environment
Requirements
- Minimum three years of recent import/export experience in the field of trade and customs as a customs attorney, customs broker, U.S. Customs auditor, or import specialist, including experience in The Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs federal regulations, NAFTA, entry processes, valuation, and informed compliance methods
- Bachelor’s degree, J.D., LL.M. in taxation, and/or Masters in Taxation (MST) from an accredited college/university; LCB or other relevant trade certification preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Access and Excel
- Demonstrated project management experience including effective interpersonal skills, good written and verbal communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based sponsorship now or in the future (KPMG LLP will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity)
