Responsibilities

  • Provide advice to clients in a variety of industries on import and export matters
  • Research U.S. and international import and export trade matters
  • Explore, write, and review international trade advice
  • Formulate ideas and deliver possible trade savings opportunities
  • Aid in the development and training of team members
  • Assist in the delivery of multiple client engagements on time and within budget; maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations and satisfaction
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG’s respectful and courteous work environment

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of recent import/export experience in the field of trade and customs as a customs attorney, customs broker, U.S. Customs auditor, or import specialist, including experience in The Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs federal regulations, NAFTA, entry processes, valuation, and informed compliance methods
  • Bachelor’s degree, J.D., LL.M. in taxation, and/or Masters in Taxation (MST) from an accredited college/university; LCB or other relevant trade certification preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Access and Excel
  • Demonstrated project management experience including effective interpersonal skills, good written and verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based sponsorship now or in the future (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT, or any other employment-based visa)
