Senior Associate, Tax Ignition - Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of full-stack software solutions, including both internal and external-facing GenAI-enabled tools that drive the Tax strategic technology roadmap.
• Serve as a technical mentor and guide for Tax professionals and innovation team members, providing critical reviews of code, establishing best practices, and elevating the team's software development capabilities.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of software development projects, from initial architecture and system design through to testing, documentation, deployment, and production support.
• Act as a key problem-solver and technical expert, navigating ambiguity to deliver high-quality solutions and set the technical direction for software development within the Tax innovation group.
• Drive the adoption of modern software engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud-native architecture, to build and maintain a resilient and efficient technology ecosystem.
• Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment.

Requirements

• Minimum three years of recent full-time industry experience in a software engineering or technical lead role, with a strong background in full-stack development.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent field from an accredited college or university.
• Extensive proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, C++, JavaScript) and expertise in modern backend technologies (e.g., distributed microservices, REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases).
• Demonstrated experience with AI-assisted tooling, workflow automation, or the practical application of AI/ML models in software products.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with proven experience mentoring other engineers, conducting code reviews, and partnering effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure), containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD and DevOps practices (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
