About the role

We study methods to elicit robust B cell responses as well as develop approaches to characterize and isolate B cells of interest. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Optimizing strategies to elicit robust B cell responses in vivo
  • Characterizing B cell development in genetically engineered mice
  • Developing approaches to characterize plasma cell responses
  • Planning and executing in vivo mouse immunization studies
  • ELISA-based assays to measure antibody responses
  • Multi-color flow cytometry staining and analysis
  • Primary B cell culture
  • Presenting data in small and large group settings

Qualifications

Senior Associate Scientist: you must possess a bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of experience or a master's degree with at least 2 years of experience working in a cellular immunology research laboratory, in either academia or industry.

Associate Scientist: you must possess a bachelors degree with at least 2 years of experience working in a cellular immunology research laboratory, in either academia or industry.

Required Skills

  • Experience with vaccination, tissue isolation, blood sampling, multi-parameter flow cytometry, and ELISA is required
  • You can drive a project under the supervision of a Senior Principal Scientist by designing and executing experiments, interpreting data and making figures
  • You are highly organized and have experience managing a project, including maintaining an up-to-date lab notebook and detailed records
  • You have exceptional critical thinking skills with appreciation for rigorous optimization and controls
  • You can work collaboratively and are adaptable based on the evolving needs of the group

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some knowledge of B cell and plasma cell biology, as well as experience in primary culture of B cells and plasma cells, is a plus
  • Outstanding candidates with relevant technical experience but in an adjacent field of immunology will be considered
