The Opportunity
We're hiring a Senior Associate, Research & Market Strategy to become AbbyCare's expert on policies, programs, and market dynamics that drive our growth. You'll research states and programs 6-12 months ahead of launch, building a comprehensive library and competitive intelligence record. Your insights will shape our expansion strategy and launch readiness assessments.
What You’ll Work On
Policy & Program Research: Research state-level policies and Medicaid programs for target launch states, supporting the expansion roadmap. Build and maintain a state policy library, tracking changes and informing our roadmap.
Competitive & Market Intelligence: Maintain a record of competitors, their footprint, and strategic moves. Surface competitive signals and market shifts through regular briefings.
Acquisition & Partnership Sourcing: Source and qualify potential acquisition partners for accelerating entry into target markets. Maintain a documented pipeline of opportunities.
Launch Enablement: Prepare and submit Medicaid applications for market launches. Deliver structured launch readiness assessments and flag policy gaps and regulatory risks early.
Experience
5+ years in research-intensive roles, such as policy research, market intelligence, healthcare/Medicaid analysis, strategy, corporate development, or similar.
Demonstrated ability to become a deep subject-matter expert in complex, regulated domains.
Experience building and maintaining knowledge assets like libraries, trackers, and databases that others rely on.
Comfortable operating independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
Exceptional at finding, synthesizing, and structuring information from non-obvious sources.
Strong judgment on what matters, separating signal from noise and surfacing critical insights.
Rigorous and organized, producing work others can trust and act on without re-checking.
Able to translate dense policy and regulatory detail into clear, actionable implications.
Domain & Execution
Familiarity with Medicaid, state healthcare programs, or regulated healthcare markets.
Experience preparing regulatory or program applications.
Mindset
Intellectually curious and energized by going deep on hard, technical topics.
Takes ownership of being the most informed person in the room on their domain.
Pragmatic - research is in service of decisions and outcomes, not research for its own sake.
Comfortable feeding strategic inputs upward while letting others own the final call.
Benefits
