Job Description
The Senior Associate will support the oversight and execution of the firm’s real estate investment and fund activities through financial analysis, thoughtful evaluation of asset and fund performance, and hands-on involvement in transactions and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Provide support in managing fund financial model, forecasting equity deployment, investment volume, fund and asset-level returns, and portfolio structure.
- Manage property cash flow models for leasing activities, capital expenditures, market leasing assumptions and capital markets assumptions.
- Lead the quarterly valuation process for the fund's properties utilizing Argus and excel.
- Support detailed buy/sell/hold analyses at the property, submarket, and market levels.
- Collaborate with acquisitions and development teams to review proposed new investments for the fund.
- Acquire detailed market knowledge including understanding location, product, supply and demand within each market.
- Work with finance, technology and investor relations teams to build and maintain data systems and dashboards.
- Assist Investor Relations team with due diligence and ad hoc requests from investors.
- Own ongoing internal and external reporting deliverables.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 5-7 years of applicable work experience, preferably in commercial real estate (investment, asset management, valuation), investment banking, or data science.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, engineering, data science, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Appraisal or valuation experience desired.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Query, Power BI, SQL), CoPilot, LLMs, Python, Jira, RealPage AIM, and database management highly desired.
- Strong Excel model building skills, PowerPoint presentation skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Yardi IP/IM and Argus Enterprise preferred.
- Proficiency with accounting fundamentals and financial analysis.
- Understanding of DCF, IRR, and investment valuation concepts.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to build and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
- Organized and detail oriented with the ability to adapt to a changing and fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication, and collaboration in a team environment.
- Self-starter with superior analytical skills; a problem solver with an astute attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) in an articulate and effective manner.
Pay
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
- $140,000.00 - $160,000.00
