The Senior Associate, Investment Advisory will oversee a diversified portfolio of complex commercial real estate debt transactions, including whole loans, syndicated loans, and Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS) across stabilized, construction, and transitional loans. This role requires strong expertise in real estate investment fundamentals, independent review of loan agreements and third-party reports (appraisals, engineering, environmental, and zoning), and sound judgment on complex transactions across multiple U.S. markets.
Location
This position is based onsite at a client location in either El Segundo, CA or Houston, TX. Candidates must be able to work from one of these locations as required.
Responsibilities
- Understands multiple types of transactions and structure including whole loans, syndicated loans and CMBS, with deals sizes that vary significantly from $25 million to $500 million.
- Portfolio management of all transaction types that include stabilized loans as well as construction and transitional loans.
- Able to work on complicated transactions independently and with a team.
- Understanding of macro-economic trends and real estate investment fundamentals.
- Expertise with third party reports including: appraisals, engineering reports as well as understand environmental assessments, zoning letters, credit reports, background checks, credit references and legal documents.
- Experience in multiple markets, research, lending market trends and real estate market movements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2-5 years of related commercial real estate experience.
- Must have proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and quantitative skills.
- Expertise in market research, financial statement analysis, and loan management.
- Robust analytical skills are necessary.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Team-oriented, ready to collaborate and contribute to collective goals.
