Senior Associate - Environmental Planning & Engagement

Job Summary

This role sits at the intersection of environmental planning and public engagement. The Senior Associate will lead high-profile projects - parks master plans, urban forest ecosystem planning, and climate action plans - and design and facilitate community engagement strategies for complex, high-stakes public processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive park master plans, urban forest ecosystem plans, and climate action plans.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Design and facilitate community engagement strategies for high-stakes public processes.
• Conduct research and analysis to inform project recommendations and solutions.
• Prepare and present project findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Studies, Geography, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in environmental planning, public engagement, or a related field.
• Experience leading large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects.
• Strong understanding of environmental policy, land use planning, and community engagement principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-experts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other relevant software tools.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Studies, Geography, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working on projects that address climate change, biodiversity loss, or social equity issues.
• Experience with stakeholder mapping, participatory mapping, and other community engagement methods.
• Experience with GIS and spatial analysis tools.
