About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Associate to join our growing Commerce team. In this role, you will support the development, planning, buying, execution, and measurement of media plans for shopper and commerce media clients. You will innovate and guide Commerce planning and buying processes, collaborating closely with national Planning and Buying teams to ensure a holistic Commerce media function.

The Commerce team specializes in planning, buying, executing, and measuring Commerce media—any media elements tied to retailers. This includes in-store signage (e.g., coupon machines, shelf blades), billboards driving traffic to stores, digital ads (search, display, OLV/STV) on platforms like Amazon or Kroger.com, influencer partnerships, and shoppable technology to enhance conversion. The team supports clients’ commerce, shopper, and customer marketing teams, with a focus on measuring product sales both online and in-store.

Responsibilities

  • Media Knowledge
    • Understand media channels (e.g., display, OLV, STV, in-store, OOH) and retail media networks (RMNs) and their platforms.
    • Familiarity with DSP interface functionality (campaign hierarchy, audience builder, PMP/PG setup, reporting suite) and managed service dashboards.
    • Preliminary understanding of individual RMN capabilities across tactics, targeting, and reporting methodology.
  • Account Management & Strategy
    • Support the Manager in developing, presenting, managing, and measuring omnichannel commerce media programs.
    • Lead RFP and negotiation processes for managed service campaigns, applying previous learnings.
    • Assist in building audience targeting details and budget allocation at the tactic/placement level based on client goals.
    • Apply learnings from previous campaigns to future initiatives.
    • Host kickoff calls for new campaign launches with partners or DSP activation teams to ensure client-approved strategy is accurately reflected.
    • Identify growth opportunities and propose test-and-learn ideas.
    • Manage vendor communications and deliver client communications as appropriate.
    • Contribute to building detailed media plans, including tactics, audiences, flighting, and KPIs to drive client performance.
    • Input and manage plans within MediaTools where applicable.
    • Support the creation of client-ready materials (e.g., presentations, reporting).
    • Maintain detailed records of media plans, performance reports, and other client-relevant documents.
    • Own status documents and timelines for internal or client-facing use.
    • Ensure accurate meeting minutes, recaps, and next steps.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of outstanding deliverables on the team agenda.
    • Lead day-to-day billing, actualizing, and clearing invoices.
  • Execution
    • Participate in the buying process and stewardship to ensure original objectives are met.
    • For managed service campaigns: work with partners to maintain and optimize campaigns based on performance, monitoring via partner dashboards.
    • For self-service campaigns: collaborate with DSP activation teams to implement strategies and optimize performance, monitoring within the platform.
    • Work with retailers and DSP partners to ensure proper data onboarding and complete necessary paperwork before campaign launch.
    • Locate, determine, and build relevant audience segments in DSP platforms.
    • Coordinate creative assets between clients, creative agencies, and partners.
    • Accurately enter IOs into Prisma and build trafficking sheets.
    • Become proficient with 3rd-party ad-serving, site-served placements, tracking, and analytic systems to input media plan details and launch campaigns.
    • Monitor pacing to ensure delivery aligns with campaign flighting for both managed and self-service campaigns.
    • Measure media performance at all stages to ensure objectives are met.
    • Analyze and report data on a daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or ad-hoc basis.
    • Turn insights into actionable next steps by highlighting cause, effect, and recommendations.
    • Use historical data or vendor relationships to create benchmarks for current campaign performance.
    • Maintain client and industry benchmarks for performance comparison.
  • Relationships
    • Serve as the day-to-day lead with media partners for communication and meeting scheduling.
    • Work cross-functionally with national planning & investment, ad operations, product, reporting, analytics, finance, and other account teams.
    • Actively participate in key vendor meetings and share recaps/notes with the team.
    • Mentor Associates and provide growth opportunities.
  • Training & Development
    • Participate in trainings and proactively communicate areas of needed or desired growth for yourself and Associates.
    • Share proactive ideas with the internal team.
