About the role
The Senior Associate role involves reviewing new transactions ("Underwriting") and ongoing monitoring and ownership of the existing loan portfolio ("Portfolio Management"). This role provides an opportunity to learn from the full cycle of an investment.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze new loan applications to determine creditworthiness and risk profile
- Prepare and present loan recommendations to senior management for approval
- Monitor and manage the performance of existing loan portfolios, including timely collection efforts and risk mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to enhance loan performance and reduce risk
- Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes that impact loan underwriting and portfolio management
- Prepare and present regular reports on loan portfolio performance to senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in loan underwriting or portfolio management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of credit scoring models and risk assessment techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Experience with loan documentation and compliance processes
- Understanding of financial statements and analysis
- Knowledge of credit risk management principles
- Experience with loan origination systems (LOS)
- Passion for supporting the mission of a mission-driven organization
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay
The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience, ranging from $105,000 (entry level qualifications) to $120,000 (highly experienced).
