Senior Associate, CLO Investments

About the role

A high-performing credit fund is seeking a Senior Associate to join its CLO investment platform. This individual will play a key role in evaluating, underwriting, and monitoring CLO debt and equity investments while working closely with senior investors on portfolio construction, manager selection, and broader market opportunities. This opportunity offers direct exposure to CLO investing, meaningful responsibility from day one, and a clear path toward promotion into a Vice President role.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and underwrite CLO debt and equity investment opportunities across both primary and secondary markets.
• Perform detailed CLO cash flow modeling, scenario analysis, and stress testing to evaluate tranche performance and downside risk.
• Evaluate CLO structural metrics including WARF, WAS, diversity scores, OC/IC tests, and collateral quality.
• Conduct CLO manager due diligence, portfolio reviews, and ongoing surveillance of existing investments.
• Review CLO indentures, side letters, eligibility criteria, and transaction documentation to identify risks and structural considerations.
• Identify relative value opportunities, refinancing candidates, reset transactions, and secondary market trading opportunities.
• Prepare investment memoranda, portfolio reporting, and market commentary for internal stakeholders and investors.
• Track developments across leveraged loan and CLO markets, including issuance activity, market technicals, and manager performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience within CLO investing, CLO trading, CLO banking, or CLO research.
• Strong understanding of CLO structures, tranche investing, cash flow waterfalls, and portfolio mechanics.
• Experience analyzing CLO debt and/or CLO equity investments.
• Proficiency with Excel, Bloomberg, Intex, and structured credit analytics tools.
• Ability to independently evaluate investments and communicate differentiated investment views.
• Interest in CLO manager analysis, portfolio construction, and relative value investing.
