Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounting functions for construction clients, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and month-end close
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
- Maintain and analyze job costing data to support project profitability and decision-making
- Assist with work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, revenue recognition, and project tracking
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management initiatives
- Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions
- Prepare and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational reports
- Collaborate with project managers, business owners, and internal teams to address financial challenges and opportunities
- Assist clients with accounting system optimization, workflow improvements, and process enhancements
- Mentor and support team members as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably serving construction clients
- Knowledge of construction accounting principles, including job costing and WIP reporting
- Experience with QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Sage 300 Timberline, Foundation, Knowify, or similar accounting software
- Strong understanding of financial statement preparation and account reconciliations
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- CPA certification or CPA-track preferred
