Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining relationships with investment bankers, intermediaries, business owners, executives, advisors, and other referral sources.
  • Sourcing and developing new investment opportunities through both intermediary-driven and proprietary channels.
  • Expanding the firm's network through targeted outreach, relationship-building efforts, and industry engagement.
  • Representing the firm at conferences, trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities.
  • Managing and optimizing CRM systems to ensure efficient pipeline management, reporting, and relationship tracking.
  • Leveraging technology and AI-driven tools to improve sourcing efforts, prospect identification, and business development workflows.
  • Conducting market research and supporting the development of investment themes and industry coverage strategies.
  • Performing initial reviews of investment opportunities and providing thoughtful assessments regarding strategic fit and attractiveness.
  • Tracking market activity, industry trends, and competitive dynamics to identify new opportunities.
  • Supporting direct outreach initiatives to business owners and management teams.
  • Working closely with investment professionals throughout the origination and deal evaluation process.
  • Assisting with investor relations and fundraising-related initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Approximately 2-8+ years of relevant professional experience, depending on level.
  • Experience within private equity, investment banking, corporate development, transaction advisory, valuation services, accounting, consulting, or a related financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, transactions, and investment concepts.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with executives, business owners, investors, and intermediaries.
  • Demonstrated interest in business development, deal origination, and private markets.
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems and business development technology platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and relationships simultaneously.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to take ownership of sourcing and relationship management initiatives.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly for meetings, conferences, and networking events.

Prior private equity experience is preferred but not required.
