Senior Associate
About the role
Blue Ops is seeking a Senior Associate to support clients in building disciplined, efficient, and accurate finance and accounting functions. This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting foundation who enjoys solving operational finance problems, improving processes, and working directly with clients.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Support the creation of GAAP-compliant financial statements and internal reporting packages
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and actionable insights
- Support working capital operations, including cash, accounts receivable/accounts payable, inventory, and accruals
- Document and enhance internal controls, accounting processes, and month-end workflows
- Prepare schedules and materials for board decks, lender reporting, and compliance certificates
- Support managers in delivering client presentations, analyses, and recommendations
- Collaborate with client accounting teams to train, support, and reinforce process adoption
- Participate in project workstreams and help ensure deliverables, timelines, and quality expectations are met
- Collaborate with internal teams to drive execution, communicate risks, and maintain engagement organization
- Contribute to internal training and development programs and help build Blue Ops' financial operations methodologies
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment aligned with continuous improvement
Requirements

- A high attention to detail and comfort navigating ambiguity
- The ability to manage multiple tasks across engagements with varying complexities
- A strong problem-solving ability grounded in data
- The ability to build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- An interest in learning financial operations, systems, and process improvement
- A desire to grow into leading workstreams and eventually own client deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (accounting strongly preferred)
- 3–4+ years of relevant experience in accounting, audit, or financial operations
- CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification is a plus
- Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial systems
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Fabric, or Alteryx is a plus
- Experience in month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Exposure to FP&A, budgeting, or forecasting is beneficial but not required
- Consulting, advisory, or client-facing experience is a plus
