About the role

Tempus is seeking a highly qualified Senior Associate, Analytics & Business Insights to join our growing Sales Operations team. This role serves as a strategic partner to our Diagnostics Commercial leadership team, driving strategic discovery, translating data into narrative, synthesizing quantitative and qualitative intelligence, owning the investigative process, acting as a commercial partner, defining and monitoring success, and collaborating strategically.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Strategic Discovery: Analyze complex datasets to uncover hidden growth drivers, market trends, and potential business risks.
  • Translate Data into Narrative: Synthesize raw data into clear, compelling stories and actionable recommendations for informed, high-stakes decisions.
  • Synthesize Quantitative & Qualitative Intelligence: Bridge the gap between data and field insights to propose viable solutions.
  • Own the Investigative Process: Identify business needs and performance trends, taking the lead on ambiguity and presenting polished summaries.
  • Act as a Commercial Partner: Build deep relationships with sales and other commercial teams, serving as their go-to expert for data-driven insights and strategic thought partnership.
  • Define and Monitor Success: Establish and track sophisticated KPIs reflecting commercial performance, ensuring reporting is forward-looking.
  • Advanced Insight Synthesis: Utilize modern data visualization platforms and AI tools to synthesize complex data into real-time, automated insights.
  • Strategic Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the broader Sales Operations team and key stakeholders to provide a holistic perspective and present unified narratives to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in data-driven business analytics, focusing on complex dataset analysis to generate business-critical insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Analytical Core: Expert-level proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and modern BI/data visualization tools.
  • The "Detective" Mindset: Demonstrated ability to independently investigate data to identify growth drivers and performance gaps.
  • Communication & Synthesis: Proven experience translating complex data into clear, succinct, and "executive-ready" presentations.
  • Relationship Management: Ability to develop strong partnerships across departments and influence decision-making.
  • Operational Excellence: High attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy and organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
  • Self-Starter Mentality: Thrives in ambiguity and seeks out information and resources to deliver results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial experience in oncology, with clinician-facing products, and/or within a life sciences organization.
  • Experience working with large-scale life sciences datasets.
  • Familiarity with statistical techniques to validate business hypotheses.

Pay

$83,000 - $105,000

The expected salary range above is applicable if the role is performed from Illinois and may vary for other locations (California, Colorado, New York). Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience.
