About the role
The clocks group is seeking a skilled ASIC engineer to contribute to the development of GPU and CPU clocking systems. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure that the clocking requirements for the chip are met, including the front design team, physical design and timing teams, and software verification teams.
Responsibilities
- Architect the clock domain to meet functional, physical, and testing design requirements.
- Collaborate with multiple teams to design GPU or CPU clocks while considering architectural, design, and physical constraints.
- Improve PPA of innovative NVIDIA chips through evaluations of trade-offs across different disciplines such as Design For X (DFX), Physical Implementation, Power Optimization, and ease of timing closure.
- Implement new clocking topologies in RTL and work with the silicon solution team to address silicon or programming bugs.
- Deliver clock RTL information to GPU, CPU, and SOC verification teams, timing, and DFT teams throughout the end-to-end cycle of ASIC execution, from micro-architecture to silicon bring-up.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (Master's degree preferred).
- 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- Deep understanding of logic optimization techniques and PPA trade-offs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
- Experience in RTL design (Verilog), verification, and logic synthesis.
- Strong coding skills in Python or other industry-standard scripting languages.
- Understanding of sub-micron silicon issues like noise, cross-talk, and OCV effects (a plus).
- Experience implementing on-chip clocking networks (a bonus).
Qualifications
- Experience with clocks controllers and clocks logic design.
- Understanding of system-level artifacts such as power, noise, etc.
- Experience with scalable designs and architectures.
- Hands-on silicon debugging experience (a plus).
Benefits
Competitive salaries, a generous benefits package, and the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in the tech industry. Applications for this position are open until July 10, 2026. NVIDIA is committed to fostering an inclusive work environment and is an equal opportunity employer.
