About the role
The Senior Architectural Archaeologist will oversee the documentation and evaluation of historic architectural resources for ISAS and IDOT.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate standing buildings and architectural remains encountered during archaeological investigations.
- Oversight of the documentation of historic architectural resources.
- Compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act and Illinois State Agency Historic Resources Preservation Act.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Archaeology, History, Architecture, or related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in architectural archaeology.
- Knowledge of federal and state historic preservation laws and regulations.
- Experience with GIS and other digital tools for resource management.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with cultural resource management software.
- Knowledge of surveying techniques and methods.
