About the role
Fogarty Finger (FF) is seeking a talented Senior Designer to join our Commercial Interiors studio in New York office. You will be leading design development, consultant coordination and project management across all phases – from schematic design through construction administration.
Responsibilities
- Lead design reviews across all project phases to develop and advance design intent that reflects FF’s design brand
- Select materials and finishes to ensure alignment with design intent
- Develop technical solutions and construction details in close collaboration with the design team
- In charge of producing drawing sets and 3D models in Revit in accordance with FF’s documentation and BIM standards
- Ensure compliance with applicable local building codes, ADA requirement, and other regulatory standards throughout all documentation phases
- Effectively manage consultants’ drawings, deliverables, and schedules during DD, CD, and CA phases
- Optimize and improve the efficiency and accuracy of Revit models
- Manage CA responsibilities, including field coordination with trades and consultants, shop drawing review, and construction sketches
- Maintain and ensure QA/QC in accordance with FF’s standards
- Manage multiple tasks and schedules across concurrent projects with competing deadlines
- Identify potential issues early and find resolutions in a timely manner
- Effectively mentor junior staff in the team
Requirements
- A professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
- 6-10 years of relevant professional experience at a similar architecture or interior design firm
- Demonstrated experience producing quality CD packages and DOB permit sets
- Working knowledge of NYC building codes, Landmarks requirements, ADA requirements, and other applicable standards
- Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to present confidently in both internal and client-facing settings
- Proficiency in Revit required; working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Active pursuit of architectural licensure (ARE) or NCIDQ certification is preferred
Qualifications
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Experience across a range of project types, including high-end commercial, amenity/hospitality, and workplace interiors
- Strong knowledge of architectural detailing, including experience drafting custom design elements
- Come competence in sourcing materials and writing specifications
- Strong ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with consultants, clients, and contractors
- Experience completing multiple projects from initial concept through CA
- Hardworking, detail-oriented, and independently motivated, with strong problem-solving skills
