Senior Architect :: Remote :: Contract (W2)

Position Overview

The Advanced Robotics Team at our client is building and evolving a robotics ecosystem that supports various robotic systems across the manufacturing organization. The team is seeking a senior technical leader to take ownership of the architecture and day-to-day technical direction of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and technical direction of a robotics control system built on ROS 2 and EtherCAT.
• Take ownership of the existing platform and drive ongoing maintenance, optimization, and architectural improvements.
• Identify inefficiencies within the current ecosystem and implement scalable solutions.
• Design and deliver new features within the robotics platform.
• Serve as the senior technical leader for robotics control system architecture and evolution.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on design, engineering best practices, and technical execution.
• Partner with global engineering teams, including an international team in Thailand.
• Support a broad robotics ecosystem spanning multiple robotic form factors and use cases.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience architecting robotics control systems.
• Expert-level coding experience with ROS 2.
• Strong software engineering background in robotics systems.
• Experience maintaining and improving existing platform architecture.
• Experience designing and supporting perception systems using Physical AI.
• Experience leading technical design efforts while remaining hands-on when needed.
• Experience mentoring or leading more junior engineers.
