Responsibilities
- Project management of all professional and technical services related to the VA design and construction delivery process.
- Represent VHA in a professional manner and provide sound management advice regarding work performed on assigned projects.
- Control schedule and budget for each project to achieve best value in work being performed.
- Actively resolve problems and minimize claims by anticipating and mitigating potential issues.
- Ensure work is performed in conformity with applicable requirements and standards.
- Facilitate, manage, and document all project meetings to keep stakeholders informed.
- Manage construction and construction administration documents, correspondence, and as-builts.
- Create project management plans, including communication, schedule, quality assurance, risk management, and Project Tracking Reports in the VHA Capital Assets database.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering from an accredited school of higher education.
- Registered architect or licensed engineer preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in both design and construction with a focus on medical facilities.
- The ability to quickly understand and master local state and federal jurisdictional requirements and their application to the project.
- A working knowledge of construction contract documents, including Front End and Technical Specifications and Drawings.
- Skills and competency to supervise and manage personnel of diverse skillsets.
