About the role
This position is built for an experienced licensed architect who understands public sector design at a high level and is ready to lead projects that shape how CAL FIRE's people live, train, and work across the state.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and planning for new construction, renovations, and capital improvement projects
- Cook with consultants and contractors
- Review designs for code compliance and operational fit
- Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver facilities that hold up under real operational demands
Requirements
- Licensed architectural credentials
- Strong project management instincts
- The ability to navigate the realities of public sector design, procurement, and construction
Qualifications
- Experience leading design and project management in the public sector
- Proven ability to manage complex projects from concept through completion
- Knowledge of building codes and standards relevant to public sector projects
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Skills
- Proficiency in architectural software
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
