Senior Architect

About the role

This position is built for an experienced licensed architect who understands public sector design at a high level and is ready to lead projects that shape how CAL FIRE's people live, train, and work across the state.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and planning for new construction, renovations, and capital improvement projects
• Cook with consultants and contractors
• Review designs for code compliance and operational fit
• Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver facilities that hold up under real operational demands

Requirements

• Licensed architectural credentials
• Strong project management instincts
• The ability to navigate the realities of public sector design, procurement, and construction

Qualifications

• Experience leading design and project management in the public sector
• Proven ability to manage complex projects from concept through completion
• Knowledge of building codes and standards relevant to public sector projects
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Skills

• Proficiency in architectural software
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
