Senior Architect
About the role
The ideal candidate will lead architectural teams and interact with senior management. They will make timely design and technical decisions in a collaborative environment, build and maintain strong client relationships, and support business development efforts.
Responsibilities
- Lead architectural teams and interact with senior management.
- Make timely design and technical decisions in a collaborative environment.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with a "seller-doer" mindset.
- Perform programming, planning, and conceptual design.
- Develop and lead design production through all project phases, including Revit-based documentation.
- Mentor junior staff while overseeing document quality, including QA/QC, redlines, and specification coordination.
- Cook up and coordinate with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Manage BIM models and ensure adherence to documentation standards.
- Direct and perform site observations, field investigations, and existing conditions documentation.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturers to evaluate materials, systems, and cost considerations.
- Communicate effectively with project teams and leadership, including reporting progress and managing budgets.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities across multiple projects.
- Analyze project challenges and develop effective, proactive solutions.
- Exhibit strong knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and systems.
- Maintain professionalism, initiative, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the architecture practice.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture required.
- Registered Architect preferred or Candidate must be in process of completing the Architect Registration Exam (ARE) with one or two remaining exams.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience including all phases of architectural drafting, detailing, and assisting with the coordination of consultants and internal teams.
- Expertise in BIM/Revit and AutoCAD and Enscape or Lumion renderings software preferred.
- Knowledgeable about building codes, Texas Accessibility Standards 2012, ADAAG and other relevant building design criteria's applicable for projects.
- LEED AP or sustainability certification preferred and experience coordinating certification processes is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of building systems and experience in implementation of various building systems and project types such as (aviation, rail, transit, commercial, education) is a plus.
- US Citizenship.
- Excellent computer skills and ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communication.

Pay
Expected compensation range is between $82,000- $137, 000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
