Description
Client is seeking a Senior Architect/Analyst to design, evaluate, and optimize enterprise systems, applications, and business processes. This role serves as a strategic partner to both technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, and blueprints
- Design scalable, secure, and efficient IT systems and applications
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies
- Conduct requirements analysis and translate business needs into technical specifications
- Perform gap assessments and identify opportunities for improvement
- Provide risk analysis and mitigation strategies for proposed solutions
- Collaborate with developers, engineers, and project managers to ensure designs are implemented correctly
- Review code, configurations, and system designs for adherence to standards
- Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams
- Present architectural solutions and analysis findings to senior leadership
- Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather input and drive consensus
- Ensure solutions meet security, regulatory, and performance standards
- Maintain documentation of architecture decisions and processes
- Support audits and compliance reviews with technical evidence
- Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements
- Lead post implementation reviews to capture lessons learned
- Mentor junior architects and analysts to build organizational capability
- Modifying/migrating existing legacy systems using TDD approaches
- Familiar with several unit test tools/frameworks in support of TDD
- Experience using Version One or other agile based work management tools
- Knowledge/experience with Agile Methodologies
- Knowledge/experience of SDLC practices
- Solutions Development Framework (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab)
- Knowledge/experience of SDLC practices
- Knowledge of Postgres DB
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems architecture, analysis, or IT leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, preferred) and modern IT infrastructure
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Experience with systems analysis, modelling, and design tools
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and IT governance
- Experience with designing and implementing enterprise level solutions
Additional Skills/Experience
- A minimum of ten (10) years experience in software development, database administration, and/or related field
- A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline is preferred
- Able to perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of a given program
- Able to oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job
- Experience training/mentoring less experienced personnel
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with designing, implementing, operating and administering relational DBMSs
- Development/support experience with more than one DBMS product (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server)
- Extensive knowledge of/experience with DBMS Job Control Language (JCL), access methods, performance tuning, device allocation, validation checks, organization, security, documentation and statistical methods
- Without assistance, capable of recommending the most appropriate DBMS product after evaluating a set of system requirements
- Extensive experience producing database-related documentation such as administration policies, procedures, standards and guidelines
- Excellent communication skills
Additional Provisions
- Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check
- All candidates must be a US Citizen or have permanent residence status (Green Card)
- Candidate must have lived in the US for the past 5 years
- Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years
- Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
