About the Role

A leading environmental consulting firm is seeking an experienced Senior Archaeologist to join its growing cultural resources team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, energy, transportation, land development, and environmental projects while contributing technical expertise to complex cultural resource management challenges. The successful candidate will lead archaeological investigations, regulatory compliance efforts, and cultural resource assessments while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams. This role is well suited for a technically strong professional who enjoys a mix of fieldwork, technical reporting, client interaction, and project leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Principal Investigator or senior technical lead on cultural resources projects.
  • Lead archaeological surveys, site evaluations, monitoring programs, testing, and data recovery efforts.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, cultural resource assessments, research designs, and management plans.
  • Provide expertise on archaeological compliance requirements and environmental review processes.
  • Conduct archival research, site record reviews, and cultural resource evaluations.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, tribal representatives, and project stakeholders.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on field methods, data collection, and reporting standards.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists, engineers, planners, and other technical specialists on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Support proposals, technical scopes, and business development initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Cultural Resources Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional cultural resources experience.
  • Experience serving as a Principal Investigator or senior technical archaeologist.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local cultural resource regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and complex infrastructure or environmental projects is highly desirable.
