Senior Aquatics Specialist

About the role

Senior Aquatics Specialist at Petco is responsible for ensuring all aquatic life in Petco stores are cared for appropriately. This includes adhering to operational guidelines, completing aquatic maintenance, assessing and addressing aquatic life health and conditions, and creating Companion Animal Incident Reports as needed.

Responsibilities

- Ensure aquatic life receives appropriate care by adhering to operational guidelines and completing aquatic maintenance. - Complete and apply training programs to maintain expertise and educate other PCC partners in aquatic care and maintenance. - Place aquatic life orders and special-order requests to maximize sales and inventory. - Support guests and other PCC partners regarding aquatic education and care. - Conduct physical inventory counts and collaborate with the CAL to analyze department inventory management data and recommend improvements. - Stock, price, and display aquatic life and merchandise to create a great presentation for guests, including performing routine housekeeping tasks like aquarium system maintenance and sweeping/mopping floors.

Qualifications

Minimum of one year of experience working with and/or caring for freshwater and marine aquatic life is required. The ideal candidate possesses a high level of knowledge of aquatic life and an aptitude for sales techniques. They must also demonstrate a keen and genuine interest in animals and their care, along with good interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

- Proficiency in mathematics and basic accounting relationships. - Exceptional communication skills. - High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
