Senior Applications Software Specialist

Overview

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Applications Software Specialist located at Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA, supporting the C3I and Infrastructure Division (AFLCMC/HNI) which focuses on providing enterprise support to over 110 active Air Force, Air National Guard (ANG), and Air Force Reserve installations and bases.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoDOR
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoDOR
• 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight of which must be in the DoD
• Non-Functionally Aligned Minimum Recommended Education and Experience: GED and at least five years experience in the respective profession being performed, five of which must be in the DoD

Preferred Qualifications

• Possesses the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and journeyman contractor personnel within the technical / professional discipline
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of their technical / professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures, and practices in their area of expertise
• Program Office, Enterprise, and Staff Level Support interface

Responsibilities

The Contractor shall advise and support work that involves the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing applications software, including:

• Analyzing and refining systems requirements
• Translating systems requirements into applications prototypes
• Planning and designing systems architecture
• Determining and designing applications architecture
• Determining output media/formats
• Designing user interfaces
• Working with customers to test applications
• Assuring software and systems quality and functionality
• Integrating hardware and software components
• Writing and maintaining program documentation
• Evaluating new applications software technologies; and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices to the delivery of application software services
• Plan and or implement agile acquisition/SW development technique
• Plan and or implement DevOps processes and techniques for Cloud and non-cloud applications

Pay

Salary Range: $125-135,000.00
