MathWorks is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to operate as a Technical Account Manager (TAM) to develop and execute a technical strategy to drive the adoption of MATLAB and Simulink among some of our leading customers.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy for driving tool adoption and customer success across engineering organizations.
- Develop technical roadmaps that align MathWorks solutions with customer strategic initiatives.
- Champion MathWorks technical computing and Model‑Based Design solutions across engineering teams and programs.
- Lead high‑impact technical engagements across multiple domains.
- Cross‑functional technical teams, including Application Engineers, Consulting, Training, and Development.
- Understand customer workflows, challenges, and program priorities; recommend impactful solutions.
- Guide customers in improving engineering efficiency, design workflows, verification processes, and Model‑Based Design adoption.
- Partner with Sales Account Managers to develop and execute account strategies.
- Partner with Marketing to highlight customer success stories, identify market‑specific messaging, and develop user community engagement plans.
- Collaborate with Consulting and Training organizations to drive product adoption and successful project execution.
- Work with Development teams to translate customer feedback into product and workflow improvements.
- Represent MathWorks in executive‑level technical discussions.
- Identify new opportunities to expand adoption in areas such as systems engineering, integration/test, DevSecOps workflows, and secure embedded development.
- Continually expand your technical and business skills through exposure to diverse customer programs and technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
- Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without restriction.
- Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
- Experience with Aerospace and Defense
Additional Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
- Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink.
- Demonstrated experience in interfacing with customers and leading technical discussions.
- Strong communication, relationship‑building, program and project management skills.
- Ability to influence technical direction across large organizations.
- Strong background in system modeling and simulation, control design, or signal processing.
- Experience with data analysis, algorithm development, or verification workflows.
- Prior experience supporting defense primes, government agencies, research labs, or large Aerospace & Defense programs.
- Familiarity with image processing, audio algorithms, computer vision, or thermal/electrical system modeling.
- Familiarity with large-scale simulation, digital engineering practices, or high-performance computing environments.
- Experience supporting complex engineering domains such as communications, RF systems, autonomy, embedded systems, or multidisciplinary system design.
- Experience working in regulated or security‑constrained engineering environments.
