Senior Application Developer

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing, and deployment of web applications using Java and/or Python.
• Arcitect application features, APIs, and integrations across program services and external systems.
• Develop and maintain GIS-enabled application capabilities and geospatial services.
• Drive code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and secure coding practices.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and lead performance tuning across the application stack.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver PI commitments.
• Mentor mid-level and junior developers and contribute to engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline (equivalent experience accepted).
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Expert-level development in Java, Python, or both, including modern web frameworks.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and service-based architectures.
• Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git-based workflows, and automated testing.
• Security Clearance (TS/SCI) with willingness to undergo polygraph examination.
• Desired Experience with GIS technologies (ArcGIS, GeoServer, OpenLayers, Cesium, or similar).
• Experience with containerization and cloud deployment (Kubernetes, AWS/C2S).
• Experience operating within SAFe or Agile delivery frameworks.

Pay

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The Proposed Salary Range For This Position Is $75,200-$158,100.
