Senior Application Business Systems Analyst
About the role
The Senior Business Systems Analyst position is within the GTO SDC Funds Financial and Investor Services department.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Business, Business Analysts, Developers and QA Analysts to understand business needs and requirements, and translate into test scenarios when appropriate
- Determine and document business objectives; translate business objectives into published system specifications (Business Requirements Documents and User Stories); ensure business requirements are testable
- Work with QA Analysts to develop, maintain and publish test specifications, which may include preparation of test data and test scripts and manually executing test cases
- Create and maintain documentation for end-users and support personnel
- Document new work requests and estimate work effort and duration of work to complete Service Requests and/or more complex project initiatives
- Execute the SDLC process by having knowledge and worked in both Waterfall and Agile methods, with specific detail towards requirement gathering, testing and submission of operational change
- Independently analyze and troubleshoot production application and data issues, leveraging documentation, system knowledge, and available tools
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and balance critical incidents, project work, service requests, and milestone commitments in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or relevant experience; or, Bachelor degree in related business field accompanied with technology or business system specific related experience
- Minimum 5 years systems analysis or other relevant experience
- Experience in at least one significant team-oriented system or business-related project
- Experience with SQL and/or other tools to exploit database technologies and information gathering
- PREFERRED: Experience with SS&C Technologies, PowerApps/PowerAutomate/PowerBI/APIs, SharePoint, Co-Pilot, SQL Server, Azure DevOps, BMC Control M
- Experience working directly with external vendors to coordinate requirements, manage deliverables, and support issue resolution.
- PREFERRED: Experience supporting systems and data within the mutual fund or broader financial services industry.
