Senior Ansible Automation Engineer

About the role

The Senior Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining end-to-end automation solutions for secure enterprise environments. They will also build and maintain RESTful APIs and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automation solutions using Ansible playbooks, roles, modules, and workflows for secure enterprise environments.
  • Execute the full software development lifecycle for automation projects, including requirements gathering, deployment, maintenance, and support.
  • Develop advanced automation scripts utilizing Python, Bash, and PowerShell to address complex business needs and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI and Flask to orchestrate automation workflows and facilitate system integrations.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, leveraging version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate within Agile and Scaled Agile frameworks with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, security, and service teams, to deliver integrated automation solutions.
  • Ensure automation solutions adhere to secure coding standards and comply with enterprise security policies and banking regulations where applicable.
  • Document automation solutions, create runbooks, and maintain knowledge base articles for operational support.
  • Provide technical support for automation systems, troubleshoot production issues, and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
  • Stay current with emerging automation technologies and contribute to establishing automation standards, best practices, and governance frameworks.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise automation, software development, and support.
  • Proven expertise in Ansible, including developing playbooks, roles, modules, and workflows.
  • Advanced scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Ability to work in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automation orchestration platforms like ServiceNow or ARIA.
  • Knowledge of secure coding standards and banking or financial services environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scaled Agile methodologies.
