Senior Android Software Engineer
About the role
Design, build, and maintain high-performance Android SDKs and on-device services (with iOS work as our cross-platform footprint grows), focusing on reliability, footprint, battery, and security.
Drive down install and delivery failures — improving package-manager reliability, dynamic app-delivery (ASR), and recovery paths across a highly fragmented device and OS landscape.
Partner with OEM and carrier integration teams to ship features that operate within tight platform, privacy, and resource constraints.
Extend on-device surfaces that power alternative distribution and brand-on-device experiences, a key pillar of DT's FY27 roadmap.
Own the full lifecycle of what you build: instrumentation, alerting, rollout strategy, A/B experimentation, and on-call for your services.
Raise the bar on code quality through reviews, automated testing, and tooling, and mentor other engineers on mobile best practices.
Responsibilities
- Build and harden the SDKs and on-device services that power app delivery, discovery, and monetization at carrier and OEM scale.
- Operate what you build in production at scale, including monitoring, debugging field issues, and staged rollouts.

Requirements
5+ years building production mobile software, with deep expertise in Android (Kotlin/Java) and a working command of native internals; iOS (Swift/Objective-C) experience is a strong plus.
Strong grasp of asynchronous programming, concurrency, memory and battery profiling, data structures, and mobile design patterns.
Experience shipping SDKs, libraries, or framework-level code consumed by other developers — not just app features.
Track record of operating what you build in production at scale, including monitoring, debugging field issues, and staged rollouts.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, autonomous, outcome-oriented team that treats its product like a mini-startup.
Qualifications
Nice To Have Skills:
- Experience with AdTech, mobile measurement/attribution, or on-device ML inference.
- Familiarity with OEM/carrier pre-load constraints, Android system apps, or device-management contexts.
- Exposure to alternative app stores or in-app purchase / payments flows.
