About the role

The Global Finance Technology organization is seeking a Senior Anaplan Solutions Architect to oversee and implement complex and strategic system and application development projects. This role requires a significant focus on Anaplan software and its planning and forecasting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develops clear, comprehensive and integrated system, technical and/or product recommendations that support business plans and long-term strategies.
  • Partners with data strategy team to ensure Anaplan aligns with the Finance single version of the truth approach, managing dimension hierarchies and understanding upstream/downstream lineage.
  • Defines standards for data flows through Liberty tools (e.g., IDMC) into Anaplan and to/from Snowflake.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of AWS cloud-native patterns (S3 buckets, IAM policies, data encryption, etc.)
  • Ensures development team understands and follows governance for documentation standards (model designs, runbooks, decision records).
  • Works to define standards around monitoring, incident response, change management, data flow diagrams, etc.
  • Create and maintain architecture diagrams.
  • Develops a strategic roadmap for the platform, making incremental but steady progress towards the north star state.
  • Serves as the primary technical liaison with Anaplan, evaluating new features, training needs, etc.
  • Provides technical guidance on build vs. buy decisions.
  • Drives the inclusion of AI in the planning processes.
  • May assist teams with critical development.
  • Participates during incident management events and provides consultative recommendations on viable resolutions.
  • Maintains collaborative and strategic partnerships between customers, vendors, business partners, and technology teams.
  • Mentors staff to develop technical engineering capabilities.
  • Shares expertise to ensure teams are continuously improving and learning together to meet current and future engineering needs.
  • Demonstrated through publication and speaking engagements or other indicators of external industry recognition of expertise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 12-15+ years of Anaplan Configuration Engineering experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years building scalable and maintainable Planning models.
  • Minimum 5+ years of Solutions Engineer experience specifically with Anaplan.
  • Anaplan Certified Model Builder strongly preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with different business stakeholders to translate needs to actionable technical specifications.
  • Experience designing and implementing integrations between Anaplan and other enterprise systems (EPR, CRM, data warehouses).
  • Experience acting as a technical advisor/coach on complex Anaplan issues and communicating complex Anaplan issues to non-technical partners.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance operations, objectives and strategies; in-depth understanding of global business and technology trends.
  • Strong influencing and consensus building skills, and the adaptability to respond to change quickly.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization with diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience with agile practices and expectations.
  • Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly.
  • Strong consulting skills (relevant/technical); recognized as a thought leader within the company.
  • Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of decisions.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
