Senior Analyst, Strategy
About the role
The Strategy team plays a pivotal role in shaping the Firm’s long-term vision and ensuring sustainable growth and competitive advantage. The team conducts comprehensive market and financial analyses, evaluates the competitive landscape, and formulates strategies, overseeing their execution from inception to completion. All decision-making is grounded in a robust fact base, ensuring informed and effective strategies.
As part of the Strategy team, you will help formulate and execute key strategic projects that are instrumental to delivering on the Firm’s 2028 vision of creating a distinctive client experience, as well as develop future phases of the Firm’s strategy. Under the direction of the Global Director of Strategy, you will collaborate with the Executive Committee, Strategy Committees and task forces, relevant functional leaders, and the strategy team to drive initiatives from strategy formulation to execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead key workstreams within complex strategy engagements, working closely with the broader Strategy team, internal stakeholders, and external consultants.
- Independently drive the research and analysis agenda, take accountability for the quality and integrity of deliverables in PowerPoint, Excel, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and proactively manage work plans and deadlines.
- Anticipate risks and take necessary steps to manage and mitigate them.
- Specific duties include:
- Independently sourcing, evaluating, and recommending solutions, frameworks, and methodologies to address specific project needs.
- Owning the research agenda end-to-end by defining and refining hypotheses, designing the research approach, and drawing on primary and secondary sources to build a robust evidence base.
- Taking accountability for the accuracy, reliability, and completeness of fact bases by critically evaluating sources, stress-testing assumptions, and ensuring all data is fit for purpose before it informs analysis or decision-making.
- Leading quantitative and qualitative analysis, including external market analysis using Excel and Power BI, ensuring data integrity, identifying trends and anomalies, and translating findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Developing and applying analytical frameworks to identify, prioritize, structure, and solve complex business problems, including proactively spotting gaps, surfacing issues, and asking the right questions to sharpen the team's thinking.
- Taking ownership of aspects of high-quality presentations and reports, including synthesizing complex analysis into clear, compelling narratives and insights that are fit for senior leadership audiences.
- Managing and continuously improving the Strategy team's knowledge repositories and network lists, and serving as a reliable point of contact for related information requests.
- Managing day-to-day relationships with internal stakeholders and external counterparts, acting as a credible and trusted point of contact, and ensuring alignment and continuity throughout engagements.
- Partnering with senior leaders on ad hoc strategy requests, including taking initiative to scope, structure, and deliver against these needs with minimal direction.
Qualifications
- A four-year college degree.
- Minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with other tools and systems such as SharePoint, Visio, and similar is an advantage.
- Confident and able to work with senior stakeholders.
- Able to utilize analytical skills to research and analyze issues.
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Pay
The New York salary range is $104,000 - $156,000.
