About the Role

The Partner Consultation Group focuses on maximizing the value to each partner type at Edward Jones by providing both proactive and reactive support, guidance, and education. You will be at the forefront of transforming wealth management practices—bringing a strategic, forward-thinking mindset as you partner directly with branch teams to unlock growth in order to build enduring, high-performing practices.

As a Partner Consultant, you will consult with individual Financial Advisors (FAs) and FA teams to help them make confident business decisions about their partner relationship with the firm and their practice. You will also identify policy, education, and program opportunities for partner models and FA teaming.

Responsibilities

  • Support escalated and complex situations regarding partner types, including delivering sensitive messages and guidance about:
    • Retirement/Succession planning
    • FA teaming compensation strategy
    • Partner earnings
    • Retirement savings options
    • Tax planning
    • Eligibility for offerings
  • Lead consultations with FAs, delivering customized models to help them make informed decisions regarding FA Teaming opportunities.
  • Conduct structured discovery to assess FA and FA team dynamics.
  • Use complex problem-solving and critical thinking skills to resolve situations.
  • Build and deepen business acumen and knowledge of each partner type to serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Create education and communication materials, including hosting webinars, to raise understanding of FA Teaming.
  • Build strong relationships with Financial Advisors to be seen as a trusted consultant.
  • Draw information from multiple sources to identify, analyze, and resolve complex needs.
  • Stay up to date on changes in tax laws, partnership agreements, processes, or information necessary to provide accurate advice and guidance.
  • Identify trends, insights, and needs of partners, proposing solutions and implementing changes.
  • Act as a resource for other associates and a trainer for new associates by building and maintaining training materials and topical resources.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of department topics to research questions of varying detail and complexity.
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality consulting experiences while continuously refining approaches and building expertise.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required, with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred. A Business degree is acceptable.
  • CPA or international country equivalent (CA, CGA, or CMA) or working toward the designation is a plus.
  • 2–6 years of relevant work experience (customer service, accounting, financial services industry, or Edward Jones experience).
  • Strong understanding of the financial services industry, including business models and compensation structures.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and deliver clear, impactful messages.
  • High level of discretion, judgment, and professionalism.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Experience balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, consultative environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to keep personal information (compensation, benefits, personal considerations, etc.) confidential.

  • Strong facilitation and consulting skills.
  • Prior experience working in or consulting for wealth management practices.

Schedule

Working hours should align to 8 am to 5 pm Central Time. Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
