Senior Analyst, Investments & Acquisitions

About the role
Join one of the most active multifamily investment platforms in the industry. As Senior Analyst, Investments & Acquisitions, you will play a highly visible role supporting AIR Communities and Blackstone deal teams in the underwriting, evaluation, acquisition, and disposition of multifamily assets across Blackstone investment vehicles. This is an opportunity for a technically strong, detail-oriented investment professional to gain direct exposure to senior stakeholders, including Blackstone executives, while working on complex, high-value real estate transactions.

This role reports to a Market Leader on the Investments Team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support real estate investment underwriting, including detailed financial models, sensitivity analyses, valuation work, and investment returns analysis for acquisitions, dispositions, value-add, yield-oriented, and opportunistic strategies.
- Evaluate potential transactions by synthesizing asset-level performance, historical operating results, capital needs, rent growth assumptions, market fundamentals, and investment risk factors.
- Build, audit, and refine complex Excel-based models with a high degree of accuracy, technical rigor, and attention to detail.
- Support acquisition and disposition processes from initial screening through closing, including diligence, pricing analysis, buyer feedback tracking, valuation support, and recommendation materials.
- Review and analyze offering materials, broker packages, diligence information, third-party reports, market data, and internal operating assumptions.
- Manage multiple live deal workstreams with urgency, precision, and ownership in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
- Prepare polished Investment Committee materials, transaction summaries, executive presentations, and supporting analyses for senior AIR and Blackstone stakeholders.
- Translate complex financial analysis into clear, concise recommendations that support investment decision-making.
- Communicate professionally with internal leaders and external parties, including brokers, operators, appraisers, consultants, lenders, and third-party vendors.
- Analyze market fundamentals, capital markets trends, demographic data, competitive positioning, and submarket or micro-location dynamics.
- Partner closely with Blackstone investment professionals and AIR’s Transaction Management, Operations, Asset Management, Capital, and market leadership teams.
- Contribute to special projects related to investment strategy, portfolio growth, process improvement, business intelligence, and team infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, economics, accounting, business, or a related analytical field.
- 2–4+ years of relevant experience in real estate investments, acquisitions, asset management, investment banking, deal advisory, transaction services, valuation, private equity, or a comparable analytical finance role.
- Advanced financial modeling skills, including discounted cash flow analysis, return metrics, debt and equity structures, scenario analysis, and transaction-level underwriting.
- Strong technical foundation with the ability to evaluate investment opportunities, identify key risks and value drivers, and translate complex analysis into clear recommendations.
- Exceptional attention to detail, judgment, and ownership, with the ability to produce polished, executive-ready work product under tight timelines.
- Professional presence and strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence and maturity to interact with senior leaders, investment partners, and external counterparties.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct multifamily, residential, or broader commercial real estate transaction experience.
- Experience supporting acquisitions, dispositions, Investment Committee materials, valuation analysis, diligence, or transaction execution.
- Experience with real estate data platforms, business intelligence tools, or investment management systems.
- Ability and interest to grow within the Investments Team and take on increasing responsibility over time.
- Some travel may be required depending on team needs.
