About the role

The Senior Analyst, Global Tax Reporting role is a remote position within the Global Tax team at Stanley Black & Decker. Reporting to the Manager, Global Tax Reporting, this position focuses on the Company's financial reporting obligations and various project initiatives in accordance with ASC 740.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Manager, Global Tax Reporting, and focus on the Company’s financial reporting obligations and various project initiatives in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Aid in the quarterly and annual global tax reporting process in accordance with ASC 740, including current and deferred tax calculations, tax attributes, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, tax account reconciliation, SOX documentation, and financial statement presentation/disclosure in Forms 10Q and 10K.
  • Conduct trend analysis and forecasting of the global effective tax rate.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Stanley Black & Decker organization to achieve greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and automation in the tax accounting process.
  • Work with internal and external auditors on interim and annual audits.
  • Research and analyze the tax impact of new accounting pronouncements and tax legislative developments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or working towards a CPA.
  • 3-4 years of tax experience with an emphasis in income tax accounting, preferably within the public accounting industry or publicly traded U.S. based multi-national companies.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Federal, State, and International (foreign) corporate tax concepts.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to partner in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision software, DMI Tax Position Manager software, and enterprise software such as SAP, Hyperion or HFM is desirable, but not required.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $77,600.00 - $124,900.00.
