Role Purpose
This role supports Corning’s Global Tax Planning team by driving the execution of high-impact tax planning projects. The position is responsible for analyzing tax law changes, building tax and financial models, supporting tax credit and restructuring initiatives, and coordinating work across cross-functional and global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor global tax law changes, analyze and summarize the impacts to Corning, and provide technical guidance to Tax Operations
- Supports tax projects through all aspects of the project, including development of Excel modeling, macro/micro step plans, research tax topics, tax modeling/tax attributes, reviewing legal documents, and coordinating with cross-functional/global teams.
- Supports and implements domestic and international tax planning restructurings and projects in areas including tax credits, legal entity optimization, repatriation planning, foreign tax credit planning, cross border funding, and holding company structures.
- Supports the documentation of tax positions and internal controls.
- Supports Tax Controversy in domestic and international tax audits, assisting the gathering and strategic review of information.
- Supports Tax Operations to ensure Tax Planning projects are recorded appropriately in the tax provision and tax return.
- Partner with finance and other business areas with information and advice regarding tax matters, specifically tax credits.
- Liaise with outside advisors and consultants where appropriate.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, or Juris Doctorate (JD).
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience in tax (Big 4 or in-house).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to team and interface with others in tax, business units, and cross-functional departments.
- Strategic problem solving, tax research, writing and presentation skills.
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Prior experience working with tax credits, specifically 45X and 48D, strongly preferred.
- Complex tax computation and modeling experience is preferred.
Pay
The range for this position is $89,022.00 - $122,405.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
