Purpose

The Derivative Operations team is responsible for managing the operational aspects of Athene's Derivative investment and hedging strategy. The Senior Derivative Operations Analyst will have responsibilities associated with derivative middle-office trade support, data management, investment accounting oversight, and derivative legal compliance. Additionally, the incumbent will play a key role in managing the design of systems and processes being developed to support growth and change within the organization.

Accountabilities

  • Partner with Portfolio Management, Trading, Legal, Treasury, and Accounting to support end-to-end derivative trade processing and data management.
  • Manage settlements with domestic and international counterparties across OTC derivatives, swaps, options, and foreign exchange transactions.
  • Maintain data integrity across trade capture, accounting, reporting, and downstream systems, including daily cash flow reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve complex trade, settlement, and data exceptions, partnering with internal teams, counterparties, and third-party providers to mitigate operational risk.
  • Support strategic initiatives, including new investment products, hedging strategies, system implementations, and process enhancements.
  • Serve as the Derivatives Operations systems subject matter expert, driving platform improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Review legal trading documentation (ISDAs, CSAs, MCAs, and related agreements) and ensure accurate trade booking and downstream processing.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, industry initiatives, and market trends to support compliance and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, with knowledge of derivative post-trade workflows.
  • Experience with trade processing platforms such as MarkitWire/MTM, Triana, PAM/PFI, GTSS/CLS, Fusion Invest (Sophis), or Kyriba preferred.
  • Strong understanding of derivative and fixed income products, investment operations, and hedging principles.
  • Advanced Excel skills required; experience with VBA, SQL, Tableau, or Power BI is a plus.
  • Experience gathering business requirements, supporting projects, and driving process improvements.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, MIS, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Pay

$85,932.00 - $128,898.00 USD Annual
