Senior Analyst-Data Analytics
American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the global leader in Commercial Payments Solutions and continues to be an exciting and fast-growing business. The Global Sales Enablement, Pricing & Transformation (SPT) team within GCS is instrumental in driving sales and profitable charge volume growth. This role reports to the Senior Manager, US SME Middle Market Acquisition.
About the role
This position offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic organization and help GCS navigate towards growth. The Senior Analyst will work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Incentive Governance to provide strategic analyses, insights, sales performance, and thought leadership to support the Middle Market Acquisition organization. The role supports strategic initiatives and run-the-business activities from analysis through implementation, balancing business growth, sales effectiveness, and colleague experience. It also involves defining success metrics and developing reporting to enable leadership to understand business performance and measure the impact of key initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support strategic revenue growth and other initiatives by partnering with cross-functional teams to evaluate opportunities, establish success metrics, track results, and proactively provide updates.
- Champion data-driven decision-making by developing analyses and insights that help business partners navigate change and make informed decisions.
- Analyze sales performance and business results, identifying key drivers, emerging trends, opportunities, and risks, translating findings into actionable recommendations for leadership.
- Support annual goal-setting and incentive initiatives through modeling, analysis, performance tracking, and development of clear communication.
- Partner with key collaborators, including Business Blueprint leadership, Marketing, Incentive Governance, and Enterprise Digital & Analytics, to solve business challenges and advance key priorities.
- Manage multiple priorities and workstreams while adapting quickly as business needs evolve.
Requirements
- Experience working with large and/or unstructured datasets.
- Working knowledge of SQL/Hive, Excel, Tableau, Python, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful business insights and recommendations.
- Strategic and curious thinker with strong business acumen and an interest in identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States (the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position).
