Senior Analyst-Data Analytics

About the Role

American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the global leader in Commercial Payments Solutions and continues to be an exciting and fast-growing business. The Senior Analyst position within the Global Sales Enablement, Pricing & Transformation (SPT) team offers the opportunity to help GCS navigate towards growth by supporting strategic initiatives and run-the-business activities from analysis through implementation. This role reports to the Senior Manager, US SME Middle Market Acquisition and will work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Incentive Governance.

Responsibilities

• Support strategic revenue growth and other initiatives by partnering with cross-functional teams to evaluate opportunities, establish success metrics, track results, and proactively provide updates.
• Champion data-driven decision-making by developing analyses and insights that help business partners navigate change and make informed decisions.
• Analyze sales performance and business results, identifying key drivers, emerging trends, opportunities, and risks, translating findings into actionable recommendations for leadership.
• Support annual goal-setting and incentive initiatives through modeling, analysis, performance tracking, and development of clear communication.
• Partner with key collaborators, including Business Blueprint leadership, Marketing, Incentive Governance, and Enterprise Digital & Analytics to solve business challenges and advance key priorities.
• Manage multiple priorities and workstreams while adapting quickly as business needs evolve.
• Help define success metrics and develop reporting that enables leadership to understand business performance and measure the impact of key initiatives.

Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States (company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Experience working with large and/or unstructured datasets.
• Working knowledge of SQL/Hive, Excel, Tableau, Python, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful business insights and recommendations.
• Strategic and curious thinker with strong business acumen and an interest in identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
